Compensatory Off
Paid time off granted to an employee in exchange for working on a holiday or weekend.
Definition
Compensatory off (comp off) is leave awarded to employees who work on a designated off day or holiday, allowing them to take an equivalent day off later instead of, or in addition to, overtime pay.
Why It Matters
Comp-off tracking needs to be tightly linked to attendance data to avoid over- or under-crediting employees.
