Adhoc Allowance
A one-time or irregular payment made outside an employee's fixed salary structure.
Definition
An adhoc allowance is a non-recurring payment given for a specific reason — such as a special project, temporary hardship, or one-off business need — rather than being part of the standard, recurring salary components.
Why It Matters
Payroll systems need to handle these as exceptions so they don't get mistaken for a permanent change to CTC.
